Abstract

Dear Secretary Mineta and Assistant Attorney General James: The American Antitrust Institute is an independent education, research, and advocacy organization that supports a positive role for antitrust in the national economy. We are taking the liberty of transmitting to you several questions that we believe need to be answered in the course of a thorough evaluation of the proposed alliance of Delta, Northwest, and Continental (“the DNC Alliance”). We emphasize that these are illustrative rather than exhaustive and that we have not reached an overall conclusion, which we believe must be dependant on an assessment of information that is not currently available to us.
