Abstract
[quote] SáCouto, director of the Office of Investigation on War Crimes at the American University of Washington, asked the judge in the case against 18 former military commanders to assess the international jurisprudence on sexual violence in conflicts to give these categories to the violations suffered by the victims of El Mozote.
"This case is a historic opportunity to establish the context of what happened in El Salvador and that these evidence from El Mozote can later be used for the purposes of other cases," given that "the vast majority of the victims were raped and murdered.", stressed SáCouto.
