Abstract
In the spring of 1996, the managements of IFC and MIGA undertook a. review of whether the World Bank's Inspection Panel should be extended to IFC and MIGA, or whether an alternative mechanism should be established that would accommodate the special characteristics of the private sector. The Board of Directors requested that IFC and MIGA managements submit a report on this issue to CODE, which was also reviewing the experience of the Bank's Inspection Panel during its first two years of operation.
