Fifty State Survey of Mandatory Reporting Laws
Abstract
This publication is part of a larger scholarly project and one in a series that aims to create a “legal toolkit” for addressing sexual violence in custody. This chart is a compilation of all mandatory reporting statutes for juveniles and adults in all fifty states and the surrounding territories. The chart includes: The maximum age of a youth where mandatory reporting is required; what has to be reported; persons who are required to report; reporting procedures; penalties for failure to report; and all relevant definitions.
