Abstract
The all-star speaker list for the Making Strides: Global Networks Forum on Advancing Women’s Leadership, alumni event to be held in Miami, Florida, November 17-19, 2015 continues to grow, with Governor Christine Todd Whitman, President, The Whitman Strategy Group; Ellen Kullman, Chair & CEO, DuPont; Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director, UN Women; Donna Shalala, President & CEO, Clinton Foundation; and Isela Costantini, President & CEO, General Motors of Argentina joining the roster.
Speakers and participants will emerge from the forum with a deeper understanding of the challenges, opportunities and strategies for catalyzing women’s advancement. Participants will also strengthen and broaden their network of powerful peers that can be leveraged to drive women’s empowerment. The fellowship alumni joining together for this event include: Marshall Memorial, Eisenhower, Kellogg, Ashoka, and Harvard Loeb Fellows. We are very proud to have a notable GMF delegation coming together from across sectors and regions for this event with the partnership of L'Oréal through Stephanie Oueda, L'Oréal's International Diversity Manager. MMF alumnae Nina Vaca (MMF 2004), Chairman and CEO, Pinnacle Technical Resources; and Gitte Lillelund Bech (MMF 2003), CEO, Danske Havne will join the plenary panel moderated by alumna scholar and speaker Dr. Marcia Chatelain (MMF 2011) of Georgetown University, on "Leadership Strategies for Equity and Inclusion: Transatlantic Perspectives." The growing GMF delegation will include alumnae Zoe Carlisle (MMF 2012), Kauser Razvi (MMF 2013), Kristen Hess (MMF 2011), Susanna Williams (MMF 2011), Nicole de Beaufort (MMF 2013) and Shubha Ahya (MMF 2012) as well as TILN alumna Edita Miftari (TILN 2014) and GMF team members Melanie Whittaker from the Berlin Office and Resident Fellow Lora Berg. Miami based alumnus Dr. Luther Brewster (MMF 2010) will also host an off-site focusing on inclusive leadership in the health sector. We look forward to a GMF alumni dinner in Miami at the close of the event on the evening of November 19.
