Abstract
Chad Dobson is the founder of the Bank Information Center (BIC) and led BIC from 1987 to 1997 and 2007 to 2016. He is widely accredited with developing the global campaign strategies for environmental and social reforms of multilateral development banks (MDB). Here, he recounts the early days of BIC and the development of the global campaign. This narrative is based primarily on three interviews of Chad Dobson, two conducted in 2025 by Julie Radomski and one conducted in 2020 by Dustin Schäefer. The interviews were compiled and edited by Julie Radomski and David Hunter.
