Abstract
This report, produced as part of Amnesty International's USA campaign, details the widespread pattern of human rights violations that exists in the USA. It points to entrenched and nationwide police brutality and prisons that subject inmates to physical and sexual abuse whilst holding them in degrading conditions. It also covers issues such as the use of the death penalty with its continual pattern of racial discrimination; the treatment of asylum seekers as criminals; the contribution of the US arms tarde to human rights abuses and the continuing failure of the authorities to implement international human rights standards. The appendix of the report contains a list of selected AI documents on the USA.
