Abstract

For the reasons discussed below, this Article argues that the only way to ensure a full and successful implementation of the SDGs is to invoke reliable governance practices. This mean is that all States must fully embrace the concept of access to information and public participation in governance laid out in Rio Principle 10. Access to information and civic engagement is crucial to successful governance and policy implementation - especially in the environmental and development context.
