Abstract
Oceans have far-reaching effects on human well-being, as well as the environment and the economy. Sustainable use of oceans can contribute to reducing global warming, increasing global employment, and providing sustenance to over three billion people worldwide. However, global oceans remain undervalued, mismanaged, and inadequately governed.
